Description

Boys Life, Oct. 1927 issue, reports that some "sea scouts" landed in Dutch Harbor in June and played a baseball game against the cutter Haida.

Baseball was played here in WWII by American servicemen.

Comment

The USS Buffalo docked here in 1914 as part of an expedition to establish radio bases. The ship had a baseball team, and it's almost certain that baseball was played here that year. See the photos in the Naval History and Heritage command website.
