Description | The Anderson Intelligencer, July 19, 1877, says the Resolute Base Ball Club of Greenville has challenged Anderson to match game at Anderson tomorrow afternoon. Same, July 26, 1877 gives a full report of the game and the players, won by Greenville 56-43. F. T. Capers was the club captain. Greenville SC (1870 pop. 2800, 1880 pop. 6200) is about 100 miles NW of Columbia near the border with North Carolina. Anderson SC [1880 pop. 1,850) is about 30 miles SW of Greenville. |
