Description	the 1871 State Fair featured a baseball tournament. The Fairgrounds were located where the modern fairgrounds are, adjacent to the old state Capitol, 100 S. State St. (about State and Amite). The Capitol Club was said to have grounds in "West Jackson." in the 1860s-1870s "West Jackson" was the name for the part of the city west of the Pearl River. It is possible that the Capitol Club played at or very near the Fairgrounds.
