Description | Donaldsonville Chief, Aug. 9, 1873 reports that the Young America base ball club of Donaldsonville will play the Independent Rangers of New River landing tomorrow. Same Sept. 20, 1873 says the Independent Rangers beat the Stonewall club of Iberville, 47-35 on Sept. 7th, and that the Burnside of Donaldsonville will be playing the Independent Rangers soon. This newspaper reports on numerous games between the Burnside and the Rangers in the next two years. New River Landing is the modern Geismar. |
