Description	William E. Akin, "West Virginia Baseball: A History, 1865-2000" p. 14 says that Farmington formed the Excelsior BBC in 1868. In 1869 they defeated the Franklin of White Rock 45-39 (June 26); lost to the Eureka of Fairmount 27-54 (July 31); defeated the Expert of Mannington 28-26 (Aug. 28) and 50-16 (Sept. 4); and lost to the Baltic of Wheeling 33-83 (Sept. 29). Farmington WV (current pop. under 400) is about 20 miles SW of Morgantown.
