Description | Morris, "Base Ball Pioneers' p. 311 mentions an Eagles (jr.) club in 1868. The Louisville Courier Journal, Oct. 1, 1866 mentions the Eagle Club playing the Eureka. The Louisville Courier Journal, Aug. 4, 1868 reports that the Eagle of Louisville and the Valley of Frankfort are to play that day in Frankfort for the junior championship of the state. The Louisville Courier Journal, March 13, 1870, notes the following Louisville baseball clubs: the Little Eagles, Falls City, Kentucky, Black Stockings and Old Stabilities. These teams usually play at Cedar Hill park. Same May 19, 1870 mentions that the Eagles are to play a picked local nine.
