The Baltimore Sun, July 22, 1861 reports on a convention of Baltimore BBCs. Clubs sending delegates were the Waverly, Maryland, Olympic, Druids, Peabody, Chesapeake, Empire, Continental, Potomac, Atlantic.

The Baltimore South, Sept. 20, 1861 reports on the meeting to form a Baltimore Base Ball Association. Clubs sending delegates were the Olympic, Peabody, Maryland, Druids, Empire, Ivanhoe, Chesapeake, Atlantic, Potomac, Exeter and Marion.

The Sun, Jan. 30, 1861 mentions the Druids as organizing. The team was obviously named for the Druid Hills section of the city.
