Description | The Fayetteville Observer, Sept. 17, 1874, says “a colored base ball club in uniform, from Stewart’s Creek, in a wagon drawn by horses with flags, came to town last Saturday, and played a game with the Fayetteville colored club near the depot.” Stewart's Creek appears to be an area near Smyrna TN. It is about 25 miles S of Nashville and about 60 miles N of Fayetteville TN. |
