This was the Saratoga Base Ball Club. The Saratoga Springs Daily Saratogian, July 12, 1861, says "There is to be no game between the Saratoga Base Ball Club and the Victory Club of Troy." But the Troy club will "visit this place next Thursday" and a game with the Saratoga club is anticipated. Same, Aug. 21, 1862, reports: "The Saratoga Base Ball Club will play a return match with the Wide Awakes at Green Island in about 2 weeks." By 1867 the Daily Saratogian was reporting, under the heading "Saratoga Base Ball--the game between a nine of the Excelsior Fire Company, No. 3, and a nine of the Union Hook and ladder Co., No. 1, which came off on Wednesday of last week..." was won by the Excelsior 43-24. (Sept. 26, 1867)

Same issue, Saratoga Springs had the Stars (junior club), Athletics and Hickory BBCs playing games. The Stars beat the Athletics 26-17 "last Friday." The Hickorys visited the Actives of Ballston "on Monday," losing 67-14.
