Description

The Miner [Nelson], May 12, 1894: "A meeting of the Nelson Athletic Association was held in the Board of Trade Room last night .... The committee then proceeded to organize a base ball club." Elected were Pres. John Elliott, VP John Houston, Sec. George Arthur Bigelow, Treas. G. W. Heathcote. Fourteen people signed up.

 

This team played, and beat, nearly Kaslo on May 24th. Same, May 26, 1894.

The mining town of Nelson was settled in 1886, and incorporated in 1897.
