Description | The Los Angeles Herald, Jan. 3, 1882: "A picked nine from Los Angeles in a game of base ball at Anaheim, yesterday, beat the club of that place by a score of 33 to 7." Anaheim was a largely German community founded in 1868. From the local newspaper (the Anaheim Gazette) it appears they were slow to adopt American sports such as baseball. |
