Text | (Eckfords vs. Putnams 6/22/1858) Mr. Brown, of the Eckford Club, broke one of his fingers in catching a ball during the seventh innings; but, so wrapped up was he in the interest of the game, that after bandaging the wound, he kept on playing till the close. He has since had his finger amputated. |
