Description | The Tombstone Daily Prospector, June 7, 1892: "The Bisbee Base Ball Club has challenged the Tombstone club to play a game of ball." Same, Aug. 29, 1892: "Bisbee News...The Ball Game." reported on a game between the Copper Camp Kids and the "grave yard kids." John Tenney's website on AZ baseball, Baseball in Arid Land, says in Bisbee, "Baseball started as early as 1893 [with] the Bisbee Base Ball Club, and a junior club, who were appropriately called the "Copper Camp Kids"." Bisbee was founded as a mining town in 1880. |
