Description | The Kelowna Orchard City Record, March 11, 1909, under the headline "Baseball Players Call Meeting" mentions that baseball "made a decided hit with all lovers of clean sport in this city last year.... eight of last year's team ... will report for practice on Thursday afternoon of April 1st." Among the players mentioned are H. Paul catcher, the "sensation" of last year, T. Treadgold at 3b, A. Coe at 1b, and Eastman, pitcher. Same March 18th "A meeting of the Kelowna Baseball Team was held last Tuesday..." "T. Treadgold" may be Arthur Thomas Treadgold (1885-1957), who owned a paint supply store in Kelowna. Kelowna was incorporated in 1905. |
