Shury and Hack, pp. 1-2, says the Saskatchewan Herald, 8-11-1879, reported that a baseball match game was played there  7-23-79. He quotes the Prince Albert Times of 5-2-1883 as saying: "the first baseball practice [of the 1883 season] was held last Saturday evening."
