Description | In 1858 the city council allowed Brown and Franklin Squares to be used for baseball. Rochester Union and Advertiser, Aug. 11, 1858. Franklin Square in 1860 was on the east side of the river, bounded by Andrews on the south, Bowery on the north, and bisected by Chatham (north/south running street). Today mostly underneath a highway. |
