Description

The New York Herald, June 9, 1868, reported that “the young men of Prattsville [sic], Ala. Have organized a club for baseball…”

This is probably the Qui Vive Club of Prattville, mentioned in the The Montgomery Weekly Advertiser, Sept. 15, 1869, and in the Selma Morning Times, Sept. 9, 1869

Prattville AL (pop.in 1900 was 1300, now is about 34,000) is about 80 miles S of Birmingham and about 10 miles NW of Montgomery.
