A team from Old Point often played against the Creighton of Norfolk in 1867. The team may have been comprised on the soldiers of nearby Fortress Monroe. See Stewart, Early Professional Baseball in Hampton Roads, p. 9.

Old Point appears to refer to Old Point Comfort in Hampton VA. It is about 80 miles SE (and downriver) from Richmond, and across the James River headwaters from Norfolk VA. Hampton's population in 1870 was about 2,300.
