Comment | The Protoball PrePro data base om February 2017 shows two possible games; in one, 44 runs were scored, and in the other, 36 runs were scored. (See http://protoball.org/Games_Tab:New_York_State,_Western#date1860-7-8.) So there were lots of baserunners in both games. But there were reportedly only about 2 catcher throws to bases in each half-inning. If bases were stolen routinely in this gloveless era, wouldn't more throws be expected?
