Description | The Donaldsonville Chief, Aug. 9, 1873, reports that the Burnside Club of Donaldsonville has invited the Bruly Red Stockings to play them in Donaldsonville. Also, that the Bruly club recently lost to the Independent Rangers of the New River area 84-20. This Bruly club also said to be from around "Dutch Stores." Same, Sept. 27, 1873. Bruly (aka Bruly Landing) is the modern Brusly, west of Baton Rouge. |
