Description | The park first saw baseball played in 1867. In 1874 the local Red Stockings built stands and made it there home. It later was the home of the St. Louis Brown Stockings, a "colored" club.
Aka Compton Ave. Park and Veto Grounds. Located on the west side of Compton Ave. and Gratiot, north of the railroad tracks. Today, the site of a repair facility for the city transit agency. |
