Date 1866
Location Dover, NJ, United States
Description

"There is a club from Dover, N. J., with five crack players from N.Y.,
hired to play in it while on their tour, now traveling round the country,
playing, invariably with success, against the clubs that are seldom fully
organized in the country villages."

One complaint was that the intemperate language of the "Dover boys"
offended the local ladies who attended one of their matches. Betting profits funded the team.
