Description | From Protoball Entry #1861.8 – Vermont Club Forms A club formed in Chester, VT. The New York Clipper (date omitted from scrapbook clipping; "April 20, 1861" appears on adjacent item, perhaps from the same issue). Facsimile from the Mears Collection clippings provided by Craig Waff, September 2008. The Clipper 4-20-61 says the Chester BBC was organized on April 5th. [BA] Query: can we find out if this club played by Association rules? |

Win/Loss Records As Far As We Now Know
Warning: Users should not rely on a team's won-loss record as a reflection of its "standing" among all base ball clubs. Team schedules were not balanced, and a good record against mostly weak opponents does not signify a leading club.
