Description | From the Memphis Public Ledger, April 18, 1867. "Base Ball.--The match game of base ball played yesterday between the Enterprise and Mechanics Clubs resulted in the success of the former. Geo. Byland, of the Pride of the South Club, acted as umpire, Ed. Worsham was scorer for the Mechanics, and G. Hough for the Enterprisers." The Enterprise pulled it out, 61-18.
In a Memphis Daily Appeal article dated September 12, 1867 about a state convention of base ball clubs, the Mechanics Club is mentioned. |

Win/Loss Records As Far As We Now Know
Warning: Users should not rely on a team's won-loss record as a reflection of its "standing" among all base ball clubs. Team schedules were not balanced, and a good record against mostly weak opponents does not signify a leading club.
