Description | The Alexandria Gazette Aug. 29, 1870 reports that the home team Rickety Club of Fairfax defeated the Stonewall of Manassas 55-34. Same June 30, 1870 says the Star Club of DC is to play the Stonewall of Manassas on July 4th. Manassas is where two civil war battles were fought, both Confederate victories, in which General "Stonewall" Jackson distinguished himself. |
