Description

The Miles City "Daily Yellowstone Journal," April 23, 1884, reports that "Horse racing, base ball and other sports have begun  [in town] in earnest." Same May 15, 1884 names residents interested in forming a team. Same March 20, 1885 announces a meeting to organize a base ball club. "All old members of the Miles City club invited." (which implies Miles City had a club prior to 1885). Same June 6, 1886 says the Milies City BBC is to play nearby Fort Keough today.

Miles City was founded as Fort Keough in 1876.
