Description | The Tombstone Daily Epitaph, July 8, 1881, reports on a July 4th game between the Charleston club and the Vizina Club of Tombstone, at the "race course" in Tombstone. Tombstone was badly beaten, 35 to 15. A box score is given. and no, none of the Earp brothers were on the Tombstone team. The Vizina Mining Company was prominent in Tombstone. The Tombstoners were so demoralized by the defeat that they didn't play for the rest of the year. |
