Description | A Syracuse newspaper, in reporting on a two games between Fayetteville and Chittenango, fixed the foundation of the Fayetteville at August 1. The two clubs split the two games. These are the only 1860 games carried in the baseball clippings of the Onondaga Hist Assn; a Fayetteville club played Chittenango in 1865. Fayetteville, now in the town of Manlius, is about 8 miles east of central Syracuse. Its population is now about 4300. |
