Description

Demergian, Wrangell, p. 83 says the first game was played at Wrangell's recreation Park on July 4, 1915, where a Wrangell team beat a team from the Prince of Wales Island Cannery. A 2nd game that day is mentioned in the Juneau Alaska Daily Empire, July 8, 1915.

Wrangell has been a settlement since the 1800s.
