Description | The St. John Telegraph-Journal, March 3, 1874: yesterday they're playing base ball "in Kelly's field, off Main street, Portland."
Same, March 17, Aug 26, 1875, mentions the Acme and Atlantic BBCs of Portland. Portland (1871 pop. 12,520) was the second larges city in New Brunswick at the time. It merged into St. John in 1889, and now constitutes the north end of St. John. |
