Nine Class Senior
Description

The Melbourne Argus, June 5, 1869: "The first match of the Baseball Club will be played on the old Lonsdale Cricket ground, near the Botanical garden bridge, at half past two o'clock this afternoon. This game is as popular in America as cricket is here, and as today will witness its first trial in the colonies it will no doubt prove attractive to lovers of out-door sports."

The Melbourne Age, June 5, 1869: "Base Ball--the first match in the colony (if we mistake not) of this somewhat novel game will be played to-day on the Lonsdale Cricket ground..." (gives names of the players)

Same, June 12, 1869: "Base Ball--A practice match will be played by the Base Ball Club to-day on the old Lonsdale Cricket Ground ... in the Richmond Paddock."
