Text | [St. Louis vs. Pittsburgh 6/23/1886] Handiboe pitched a phenomenal game. He evinced that steadiness characteristic of an old ‘un at the game. He sent in a terrific drop ball, now and again varied with a curved one, that made the St. Louis players sometimes wonder whether or not the ball had passed the plate. He is now one of the great hopes of the local club. |
