Text | [reporting on the AA meeting of 3/12/1883] It was decided to elect four regular and two assistant umpires. The regulars are to be paid $1400 a month [sic], and the others $10 a game. They are to be uniformed in double-breasted blue flannel coats and caps, trimmed with gold cord and buttons. There were 40 applicants for the positions. |
