Text | [Boston vs. Athletic 9/9/1872] Anson was running to second when Fisler struck one towards Leonard. Anson seemed to slacken his pace, and the ball almost hit him. Leonard juggled it and got it to Gould too late. ...an appeal was made to have Anson decided out for obstructing the player, but it was unwarranted and the umpire declined to allow it. |
