Text | One of the principal reasons why the rule by which a batsman could, after three strikes, prevent the making of a double or triple play by merely standing still was rescinded, was because it was found that under the operation of this rule a double or triple play could be prevented in the same way even after a fair hit had been made; that is, by failing to run the batsman was out, and in consequence, no base runner was forced. |
