Text | The changes in the arrangements of the [Union] grounds consists chiefly of improved accommodations for the pool selling department and the crowd of betting men. The old stand assigned for the use of the reporters–to whom professional ground keepers are largely indebted for gratuitous advertising favors–still retains its place in the way of the catcher’s movements in running after foul balls, and the reporters will be, as hitherto, liable to the annoyance of having players look over them while writing their reports. At all the ball grounds of cities outside of the metropolis, improved facilities have been afforded to the members of the press, especially at Boston and Philadelphia. |
