Text | [discussing the proposed rules] This is a section naming the position in which the substitute is to stand. Substitutes used to try their best, as a general thing, to balk the catcher by running between him and the batsman. Now they must stand in such a position that the moment the ball is hit they can cross the foul-ball line and line in front of the home base. |
