Text	Last Monday evening the regular monthly meeting of the stockholders of the Athletic Base Ball Club was held at No. 1108 Sansom street, Mr. George W. Plumley in the chair. The Committee of Fifteen, of which Mr. Spering was chairman, reported the new constitution and by-laws, which differ very little from that already in existence. They abolish the office of manager as an elective officer, and provide that the manager shall be appointed by the directors, and that he be an employee and not an officer. They also require that fifteen persons shall constitute a quorum, and that fifty shares of stock must be represented at a meeting to transact business. A resolution was offered that the directors be instructed to arrange games with the Philadelphia Club. This produced a great deal of debate. The scenes of the last two or three years on the grounds were discussed rather sharply. Finally, a vote on the resolution was taken by stock, the yeas being 24 and the nays 41, and so it was not agreed to.
