Text | Harry Wright says that every batsman who tries to “place a ball” will flatten his bat at the end this coming season. Farrar of the Philadelphia Club, when he went West with the team last September, flattened his bat and then painted the bat to hide it, and he made twenty-six base hits in sixteen games by it. All that is needed is to take off enough wood on one side, within a foot of the end of the bat, so as to take off the roundness., quoting the Philadelphia Item |
