Text | The financial standing of the [Chicago] club is, we believe, excellent. The management is unpopular to a degree with other organizations, on account of rather unscrupulous attempts to entice players to their club. Their method of business has brought them considerable trouble, and the treatment they received in the Force matter was not only just, but deserved. It is very necessary for the club to make a fair success, as Chicago is depended upon, to a great extent, by visiting clubs to help their treasuries, and it is an important stopping-place on Western tours. |
