Text	The Olympic Club of Philadelphia, which was the oldest organization in this country, is now defunct, internal dissensions having led to its disbandment. It was organized as a town ball club in 1833, and adopted the game of base ball in 1860. Many of the most influential residents of the Quaker City have figured on its rolls during the last half century., quoting the New York Clipper
