Text | American Sports, edited and published in Chicago by “Tod” Cowles, late of the Tribune, has come out flat footed for the American Association guarantee plan for the League. He says that the system of each city supporting its own team with its own receipts is the correct one. This is undoubtedly true. The fact that the editorial probably bespeaks Al. Spalding’s views on the subject makes it a matter of importance, so much so that the Cleveland Herald fights the plan with a column of argument. The system is the true one, and the League will come to it in time. It will not be the first idea they have borrowed from the American Association. |
