Text | The [Athletics] game on Decoration Day drew the largest crowd ever witnessed on a ball field, the sale of tickets being stopped an hour before the game was called, when fully 15,000 were on the ground and at least 10,000 on the outside clamoring for admission. The crowd which was packed all over the infield and back of the catcher really lost the home club the game, by their interference with the catcher. |
