Text | The Olympic Ball Club of Philadelphia, Pa., held its forty-seventh annual meeting on March 1, when the following gentlemen were elected officers for the ensuing year: President, F. DeB. Richards; vice presidents, J.C. Browne and E. H. Hanson; treasurer, C. Buob; secretary, W. B. Scott; directors—Charles Buob, Wm. H. Morris and E. Hicks Hayhurst. The prospects of this time-honored organization for the coming season are most excellent, and the members' choice for officers augurs favorably. The veterans Fred Richards and Hicks Hayhurst have labored faithfully for more than twenty years to promote the growth of the national game, and Charley Buob has also been an enthusiastic disciple of baseball for nearly as many years. Oakdale Park was selected as the playing ground of the Olympics, and Tuesdays and Fridays as their practice-days. |
