| Text | THE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION MEETING About two years ago a number of the members of the Athletic Base Ball Club, and other gentlemen prominent in professional and business life united together under the above title and established at the corner of Seventh and Chestnut street a handsomely fitted up club room, where the base ball fraternity of this and other cities could meet in social intercourse. It is distinct from the Athletic Base Ball Club, although a large majority of its members belong to the organization, and it offers unusual inducements for the members to join. The Athletic Association have now a long list of members, including many of our most influential citizens, and tehir club room supplies a want that had hitherto long been felt in this city, offering, as it does, unusual privileges and advantages at a very modest and merely nominal rate. The attention of the members of this organization is called to the fact of their regular monthly meeting, taking place to morrow evening at heir club-rooms, Northeast corner of Eleventh and Chestnut streets, when a full attendance is requested, as important business will be brought up for their consideration, including the contemplated changes in the constitution and by-laws relative to dues, &c. |
