Text | [reporting on the IA convention of 2/20/1877] The article on championship as adopted provides that any club belonging to the Association may enter, but is not obliged to, for the pennant. The special fee for entrance is $15 above the $10 for admittance into the Association. The championship emblem must cost not more that $50, and the championship season continues from April 15 to Oct. 15, four games all around being required. A committee, appointed specially for the purpose, prepared and presented a supplementary section to the championship code, but only a part of it was adopted. That part was to the effect that each visiting club should take $75, or 50 per cent of the gross receipts, whichever should prove to be the largest sum; also that in all championship games the admission fee should be 25 cents. |
