Text | Out of nearly 100 applications for engagement on , representing every section of the country, President Soden and the directors of the Boston club have finally made a selection of seven players, and they have all been signed for this season. … The balance of the reserve team will, of course, be made up from extra men signed by the Bostons last fall. The selection will be made by Manager Morrill, and will be governed by the abilities displayed by the several players as the season progresses. The reserves will be kept at work as fast as games can be arranged for them, and any of them will be liable to be called upon at any time to take the place of a member of the regular team prevented from playing by sickness or accident. |
