Text	The newly organized American Base Ball Association is doomed to be short-lived. By engaging Jones, an expelled player from the Boston club, it has incurred the antagonism of the league. Its financial policy is a weak one, and, by adopting rules allowing games to be played on Sunday and the sale of beer of the grounds of the various clubs, it has forfeited all claim for the support of respectable people, and, as long as it retains these rules, the association will be a disgrace to the base ball profession.
