Text | Last evening the Directors of the Allegheny Base Ball Club passed a resolution by a unanimous vote expelling John Sweeney for drunkenness and insubordination. This is the first action of the kind that has been taken in the new Association. The expulsion covers all the Association clubs. The only way to do in such cases is to set the foot down vigorously, and this action of the home club will likely give general satisfaction to admirers of the game., quoting the Pittsburg Dispatch |
