Text | Right Short-Stop.--A series of games will be commenced, on the Capitoline grounds, on Saturday next, for the purpose of testing the utility of putting a new man in the field as “right short-stop.” The batting is so evidently getting the better of the fielding, that many think an additional man needed in the position mentioned. Several prizes have been offered, and the games will be at least interesting and will doubtless settle the question in dispute. |
